The Company
VESALIUS is a family-owned business built upon three generations of orthopedic engineers who are dedicated to the restoration of bodily movement, with Andrea Vesalius being the inspiration behind its name in Greece. The company’s roots date back to 1941 when Constantinos Karatzas began studying alongside Swiss orthopedists to meet the needs created by the war for anatomy, care, and orthopedic rehabilitation. By 1951, he became the founder and teacher of the State Orthopedic Laboratory of Thessaloniki, becoming the pioneer in the restoration of physical movement in Greece.
Leonardos Sinioris took over the family business “Orthopedics K. Karatzas” in 1974, which had already been conducting thirty-three years of intensive research and construction in the field of Prosthetic and Orthotic Rehabilitation. Today, Constantinos Sinioris, a graduate in orthopedic engineering from Bremen Fachhochschule with significant experience in the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics, is the brain behind the family business.
Now, with Constantinos Sinioris at the helm, VESALIUS is entering a new era with more sophisticated anatomical constructions, prostheses, and orthoses that prevent problems, treat, and restore movement. The company aims to provide new services throughout Greece to further advance its mission of improving the lives of those in need.
